COMMITTEES
United Way has many committees in which you can become involved. Your volunteerism on any of these will assist United Way to continue their mission to advance the common good in Iberia Parish. Please contact our office at 337-364-0424 if you are interested in serving on any of the following:
CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE – This committee helps to plan and execute the annual fundraising campaign, these volunteers insure the success of the annual campaign.
COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS COMMITTEE – Composed of a minimum of 10 volunteers, this committee consists of representatives of various aspects of the community who wish to serve as a change agent and community builder. Volunteers must be focused and committed to working together to create a positive change on behalf of our community.
COMMUNITY INVESTMENT COMMITTEE – This committee is responsible for issuing RFPs that address identified community issues. The work of this committee continues with the review and selection of programs submitted during the RFP process. It is the charge of this committee to allocate funding to human service agencies who offer programs that fall within the guidelines of the four focus areas of United Way of Iberia; that being, EDUCATION, INCOME/FINANCIAL STABILITY, HEALTH, and COMMUNITY BASICS. This committee recommends fund distribution to the Board of Directors.
ALTERNATIVE FUNDING COMMITTEE – These volunteers help to plan and execute fundraising events with the community that benefit United Way of Iberia.
ENDOWMENT COMMITTEE – Responsible for collecting and reviewing other non-profit Endowment and memorial-giving programs and for creating and implementing strategies to build endowment funds for the United Way of Iberia through a coordinated active program of identifying, soliciting and recognizing donors.
FINANCE COMMITTEE – Composed of the board Treasurer (as chairperson) and at least three other members of the board, as well as community volunteers, this committee reviews quarterly reports, audits and accounts regularly and reports to the board at regular intervals.
GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE – This committee will identify, research and process candidates for election or appointment to United Way committees and/or the board. The committee shall oversee the succession planning and nominate people to serve as officers/members of the Executive Committee.
LEADERSHIP GIVING COMMITTEE – This committee designs policies and makes recommendations on donor targeting, marketing, and participates in the expansions of the United Way of Iberia's Leadership Giving Program. This program solicits donations that range from $1,000 to $9,999 from community and corporate leaders who give on an individual basis.
PACESETTER COMMITTEE – These volunteers ensure a successful kick-start of the overall campaign by securing commitments from community partners who agree to hold their annual campaign during the month of August in an attempt to raise maximum funds early in the campaign. Companies are challenged and trained with the goal of raising 50% of the overall campaign goal. Best-qualified volunteers are recruited for this committee. Members of this committee work closely with the Campaign Committee and Executive Director in planning and implementing a campaign strategy designed to achieve maximum results.
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE - This committee carries out the board's vision of building a caring community by developing and implementing a year-round plan to build awareness of the mission, vision, and values of the United Way of Iberia. This committee reports to the community on the results of United Way investments and other activities; support each of the functions of the United Way (allocation, campaign, volunteer development, etc.) and establishes relationships with all media outlets.
